Twenty Second Residence

The residence is an exploration in minimal cantilevered building forms which capture the distant panoramic views of the ocean, Moreton Island and surrounding bush setting.

The predominate cantilevered roof form has been designed to minimise obstructions on the balcony edge to capitalise on the uninterrupted views that are experienced from the residence.

The residence minimal nature contracts against the properties natural setting but is softened by the use of natural landscaped elements and finishing materials of a domestic scale.

The extensive use of bi folding doors allow the living spaces to be seamlessly combined with outdoor living areas creating an open air living experience while enjoying the distant views.

The upper and lower terrace act as an alternative external living space when predominate south easterly winds are being experienced offering the occupants an outdoor living experience in all weather conditions.

The robust roof form has been repeated throughout the residence creating building forms of three separate segments articulating the overall building.

The use of maximised openings to living spaces contribute toward the overall airiness and openness of the residence.
